Hello and welcome to ePIG after the well known and famous mini chest rig from Helikon we present you today the COMPETITION MULTIGUN RIG The Helikon mini chest rig was constantly sold out at the dealers, was very famous and much liked But now and very new the COMPETITION MULTIGUN RIG from Helikon it´s kind of a similar variant but still totally different.
While the Mini Rig was set up with fixed pouches where you couldn´t change anything. The COMPETITION MULTIGUN RIG is different it is totally modular and could be set up like and how you want it. Everybody could set it up individually.
As you could see here this are all single modules and it´s not available like this from the factory. This are single modules you gotta get together. What kind of modules are available I`ll show you in a bit.
But first I want to show you the base module The base module of the COMPETITION MULTIGUN RIG is this platform which has a pouch for different magazine modules and on the front of it there are two utility pouches and on the sides you get to open pouches which are elastic on the side, for taking pistol magazines or a multitool Let´s take a look at the back of the base module.
There is a very soft velcro panel where I could attach additional pouches but as you could see that´s the soft side of the velcro not like other chest rigs where there is the hook velcro This chest rig is really made for to carry it for itself.
It´s not made to attach it to a plate carrier or somewhere else. You could also see this at the shoulder straps which are sewn onto the base and a fixed not like others where there is a fastex clip or something else.
So they are not removable. Who wants to use this rig on a plate carrier could turn the video off now, because this is not possible. For everyone else. This rig is super interesting. I haven´t seen something like this before.
Because everything is built that it is super modular and you could adapt it to your needs. We have here these two big utility pouches. They would hold sizewise a short 308 magazine but they also have soft velcro on the inside where, as the name also says MULTIGUN, I want to carry more pistol magazines there is an insert for additional two pistol magazines.
Which is elastic and has hook velcro on the back that I just could adapt to the pouch. And with that I made out of the utility pouch another pistol magazine pouch And if there wouldn´t be such a fat patch on the flap I could store the flap on the inside.
This will give me the possibility to carry 6 pistol magazines on the front which should be enough to compete in any match. If this still isn´t enough I still have my belt and below here another utility pouch.
This is a regular molle pouch, which will be adapted like any other molle pouch. The chest rig has these loops on the bottom to adapt molle pouches there as well or carbine hooks for gloves, earprotection etc.
and there i adapted the utility pouch to. The buckles for the shoulderstraps are from whujin. The rig comes with a typical H-harness where you have another velcro strap to put namestraps on it. There is as well an attachment where you could put the left over strap material in.
Just roll it up and put it in there. What I really like and think it should be mentioned is the hip strap This ain´t just a strap like you know it from other rigs. Instead of they added in the middle a piece of elastic which is doubled with a strap.
It gives you a bit more flexibility which reaches for the length of the strap itself this gives you much more comfort on the hip section. This is a very nice feature where I have to say: Thumbs up for HELIKON.
Talking about the modules which could be inserted into the base we always have hook velcro on the front and loop/soft velcro on the back the opposite way it is at the rig. Front soft velcro, backside hook velcro.
Also with the modules Helikon made a hell of a job there is a ton of different modules available this one is for three AR magazines. With elastic attached and a very light stiffness on the front and the back.
Holds as you could see 3 magazines and secured with bungee cord I have to say they holding in there kind of tight. They have a certain pull resistance which comes from the laminate material on the inside which slows you down a bit.
So if you want to draw fast I would recommend I would go with this variation, which is a double pouch with an extra pistol magazine pouch. This one is made for 308 magazines. I just gonna show you real quick.
Lengthwise it´s not the right magazine for it. If you have a longer 308 magazine it will fit perfect and makes it easier to pull it out. This is also great when you want to work with the new law coming soon and you have to go with 10 round magazines and a connector you have more space here and makes it easier to draw becasue of the space and an additional pistol magazine.
Further there is this double pistol insert. Which is for the front utility pouches I just showed you. A double rifle pouch they are a bit tighter again, mostly made for .223 magazines. Another double pistol with bungee cord, made for the main compartment not for the utility pouch, so this is difference, that this on just fits the front pouch because it just has velcro on the back and this one has velcro on the front and the back.
This is the one for the main compartment. The small chest rig could also be extended. If this isn´t enough for you. There are expander wings available. They will be attached left and right to the rig.
I already mounted them, because with all the buckles it will take some time to attach them, so I already mounted them. The clips from wujin have a space in the middle so i could loop them in and out kind of easy you unloop them at the chest rig and loop them back in at the expander wing, than you velcro the wing to the rig itself.
I already did this at the one side, not at the other. So you take the wing and velcro it to the rig With them attached you don´t have 3 main magazines anymore, now you have left and right another slot which holds each another magazine, which gives you the ability to carry 5 total.
With this you have a big setup and should be able to compete in any match If you can say that for competition purposes you carry a shitload of rounds with you. The utility pouch of the COMPETITION series is a regular molle pouch you could also adapt it to your plate carrier if you want.
When you wanna use it on the rig use the loops on the bottom of the rig and loop it through there. and it will swing around below the rig. And it will give you the ability to store more stuff like ammo or your medic kit etc.
Or whatever else you want. On the inside you have on the one side two small slots for multitool or pistol mags and on bigger one. On the other side there is soft velcro all over, where you could attach additonal modules.
It also has a little loop for securing stuff like you keys or something else. The names and links to all the products you will find in the video description and in our blog The COMEPTIOTION MULTIGUN RIG from Helikon is a really thought through system.
And I have to say it again, Helikon is not just another company which copies stuff for cheap. They make their mind about stuff the bring to the market. Built it how it is needed and that for a fair and resonable price.
